My name is Christian W. Koch and this is my personal blog and website. I'm one of those strange mixes of equal parts science and art. I am a programmer and a graphic designer. I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and currently live in Hallandale Beach, Florida. The purpose of this website is to use it as a journal and portfolio of my interests and work. My interests include, in no particular order, Linux (mainly Ubuntu), web development, game development and gaming, video editing, animation, graphic design, photography and music creation. Yes, a geek.

My day job is mostly graphic desing, web development and system administration. I work at a, mostly, prepress, digital printing and marketing company in Miramar, FL. My passion has always been programming, thanks to my father, who noticed that I liked video games and told me one day "here, if you like games, make them," handing me a BASIC manual with my first computer, a ZX81. I was hooked. This also gives away my age...

Even though I would really like to spend more time developing games and 3D animation, my work relates mostly to web development. I have worked with basically every technology that has come out for the web since it was created, due to the fact that I like to tinker with new things. Nowadays, however, I prefer to work with Python and Django, with a dash of PHP here and there.

I am available for freelancing and consulting. It doesn't matter if it is graphic design, development or photography, or you simply need someone to tweak your website and help you with Search Engine Optimization (SEO), contact me and let me know what your needs are and I'll let you know if I can help you personally or recommend a good freelancer.
